As part of the ongoing refurbishment of operating theatres at Torbay and South Devon General Hospital one of the theatres was re-purposed to provide an invasive radiography theatre, the first at Torbay. Along with all the usual challenges of creating safe hygienic spaces to work, the 1 Tonne X-Ray equipment had to be suspended from the ceiling of the theatre and allowed to travel around in an arc without any distortion, an engineering challenge of the highest level.
